The inaugural Club Haus is set to take over Art Basel Week Hong Kong. Transforming 2 floors of J-01 Gallery into a pop-up space which intersects art, audio and apparel, Club Haus brings together rising artists, music selectors and fledging brands in a week-long programming. Expect art shows from Saigon graffiti writer Demon Slayer, Hong Kong illustrator and street artist Lousy Jon to Anwar Carrots who’ll showcase “Before Naaz was Born,” a photo exhibition focused on those who have impacted the streetwear designer’s career up till the birth of his first child, Naaz Lilia Carrots. Cult imprint Pleasures will also be doing an installation called “Artifacts of Life,” a visual moodboard of vacuum sealed relics which will be shown alongside collaboration pieces with friends & family. LA’s Chinatown Market, 40s & Shorties and Carrots with also be hosting respective pop-up booths, selling exclusive apparel alongside local crews OKOKOK and YETI OUT who are creating an installation in homage to Hong Kong’s early 2000’s rave scene. Perth’s STREETX will show a unique mural that nods to “a hotel experience in Mong Kok gone wrong,” and will be releasing collaboration merch with other participants. Hong Kong Community Radio and Fauve Radio will be soundtracking Club Haus throughout the week with guest DJs, alongside a special 1 night takeover from defunct underground haunt XXX, in addition to ongoing talk shows and workshops led by MAEKAN.
