Director, screenwriter, and artist David Lynch opened Silencio’s doors in Paris back in 2011. From its inception, Silencio gained traction as a member’s only club, popular even before Soho House became a global trend in exclusivity. At first, its almost intimidating, highly artistic image prevented it from becoming a hip Parisian hangout. It hosted mostly sophisticated artists and names in the industries of film, photography, and, to a certain extent, fashion.
But as of late, Silencio has been having its own sort of revival, if you will. This past men’s Fashion Week in Paris, Silencio was the go-to spot for each and every big FW party. Over the course of three days last weekend, its dancefloors were graced by the likes of A$AP Rocky, Olivier Rousteing, Marcelo Burlon, Kendall Jenner, KOHH, Luka Sabbat, Bradley Soileau, Nicky Young, and basically any stylist or model that comes to mind. Silencio’s DJ decks were graced by Virgil Abloh, Heron Preston, Sam Tiba, So Me, Cyber69, Will Sweeney, Abu Ashley, and Kiri, with a special live set by American rapper and performance artist Mykki Blanco on Sunday night.
Quickly established as the Paris Fashion Week hotspot for big names in the business, we’re itching to see Silencio continue to develop as a leading tastemaker, continuing to bridge gaps between urban culture, contemporary music, and high fashion.
