When Virgil Abloh’s not DJing at Silencio or working with Bromance’s Guillaume Berg on his runway soundtrack, he’s busy blowing the fashion world away with his OFF-WHITE SS17 presentation. Naturally.
Taking place on the final day of Paris Fashion Week, Virgil united industry insiders and global streetwear heads as he presented his innovative OFF-WHITE SS17 collection. Set in front of a draped backdrop resembling an old Roman structure, the collection featured monochromatic hues, reworked in a sportswear-meets-punk-meets-high-fashion way. This draped façade made for the model exit of the show. And of course, there was no shortage of white. The show itself took place at the stunning Philharmonie de Paris in Paris’ 19e arrondissement, almost reaching the outlining périphérique.
Guillaume Berg and Virgil worked together on the music for the show, incorporating a 1-hour rendition of Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands” off The Life of Pablo. Directly following the show, Virgil held an open afterparty in the backstage for models and show-goers alike.
Virgil continuously solidifies his place at the forefront of the fashion world – he even launched and autographed his first book, “YOU CUT ME OFF,†at Colette just a day before the OFF-WHITE presentation.
