"No New York men’s conversation is complete without Supreme” - Kim Jones.
The Supreme and Louis Vuitton collaboration is official. Under the "Friends and Heroes," the powerhouse shook the fashion community during it's 2017 Fall Winter collection, inspired by New York. With Supreme's iconic box logo and Louis Vuitton's refined Monograms, the combination of the two goes as “a representation of the excellence of a New York street style and the Louis Vuitton’s French savoir-faire.”
Kim Jone calls attention to the inspiration NYC in particular to Jean Micheal Basiquet and Andy Warhol. “I used to work when I was at college unpacking boxes of Supreme at a company in London that distributed it when it was just starting out, so it’s something I’ve known all along in my life. I just feel that the strength of their graphic versus the strength of the Louis Vuitton graphic, and that kind of Pop Art feeling — it works together perfectly.” The two are certainly making waves in this historic achievement and in the divsion of high and low in the fashion community.
In addition, Hiroshi Fujiwara took to the gram to tease Fragment design's forthcoming Louis Vuitton collaboration.
