Yesterday, H&M announced that their next designer collaboration will be with poppy surrealists, Kenzo. The current designers, Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim & Humberto Leon, will be the brains behind the collaboration, merging their crazy prints, animal motifs, and poppy garments with the Swedish high-street label. The capsule by the Japanese-gone-Parisian brand, founded by Kenzo Takada, promises to be bold, colourful, and surreal, in true Kenzo fashion.
H&M’s last collaboration was Balmain, and before that, they’ve been known to collaborate with big names in the business such as Alexander Wang, Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela, and Karl Largerfeld. Each of their collaborations sends fashion collectors and high-street shoppers alike into a frenzy, lining up overnight to catch a glimpse of the modestly-priced goods. Paris’ Champs Élysées store and London’s Oxford Street are both known to be absolute scenes during the drop of H&M’s designer collaborations, with panicked shoppers fighting over dresses, shoes, t-shirts… You name it.
The collection is set to drop in-store at H&M on November 3rd, 2016. This promises to be one for the books.
